2023 Workforce Trends: Flexible Work, Decentralized Workplaces and Centralized Communications Platforms

Home » Employers » Hiring remote talent » 2023 Workforce Trends: Flexible Work, Decentralized Workplaces and Centralized Communications Platforms

In 2023, workforce trends are reshaping the concept of large headquarters as the center of action. With the emergence of distributed teams working in a hybrid manner, human resources executives are increasingly working from satellite offices. This enables them to keep a continuity of face-to-face interaction with employees. Employers tell us that it’s more important to be present in small offices in more locations rather than in one large HQ.

That’s great news for candidates seeking hybrid and remote positions, especially as the best candidates are increasingly prioritizing these roles. If, as an employer, you are not offering any hybrid or remote roles, you risk shrinking down your talent pool. However, not every role is ideal for remote or hybrid working conditions. Keeping a close eye on the competition will help you assess whether and how to go hybrid or fully remote. There is no need to be the first mover in the market. Take your time and learn from competitors about what is working in the hybrid and remote worlds for similar functions.

In-person work is here to stay, but hybrid and remote work opportunities will continue to grow. This means that centralized communications platforms that streamline in-person, hybrid and fully remote employees’ workflows take on greater importance. In the beginning of the pandemic, employers were copying and pasting together tools and resources to help their employees continue their workflows under extenuating circumstances.

Now, companies are not making decisions under duress. Instead, they are strategically planning their resource allocations between brick and mortar and virtual collaboration spaces. A company that is agile enough to go from 100 percent in-person to 100 percent remote within the blink of an eye will have the upper hand. Centralized communications platforms are key to making this happen.

Beyond technology solutions, the single most important factor in staying ahead of rapidly evolving workforce trends is company culture. The resilience of your workforce is a reflection of your company’s values, and that doesn’t come to life overnight.
