Argentina for Digital Nomads: The Best Destination

Home » Digital Nomads » Digital nomad products and services » Argentina for Digital Nomads: The Best Destination

You’ve heard it all before. Argentina offers an ideal environment for digital nomads looking for an affordable and high-quality lifestyle. From Buenos Aires that boasts beautiful architecture, delicious food, culture, warm welcoming people, and a relatively impressive infrastructure to Bariloche, where you can get lost in lush forests, snowy mountains, and crystal-clear lakes, Argentina has something to delight all sensibilities. For digital nomads, “Argentina for Digital Nomads” is a dream come true, with diverse landscapes, vibrant cities, and nomad-friendly amenities that make it an attractive destination.

I don’t have to tell you that public transport is pretty decent, or that the Internet is quick and dependable. And yes – there are plenty of coworking spaces and a vibrant cafe culture as well. Although the coffee generally leaves a lot to be desired – more on that later. And of course, life is generally pretty affordable, which makes everything more liberating and stress-free. Argentina is an ideal destination for digital nomad families. Check out our blog for more advice for digital nomad families raising kids here.

I have spent two months in Argentina now, working remotely and home-schooling my kids, and I can tell you that there is much, much more to this amazing country that would bring me back again in a heartbeat. Here are the big ones:

Respect for skills

Everyone knows that Argentines take their football teams (and skills) seriously, but what has been rather eye-opening to discover is how highly skills are regarded generally. Ordinary people with ordinary lives have extraordinary skills and they relish in perfecting their art for the pure joy of practicing their craft – not to become famous or to get into a good university, but just to relish in a beautiful experience. You come across master pianists, tango dancers, film-makers and tennis players who take pleasure in teaching the next generation and sharing a moment of pure joy with neighbors who appreciate their hard work and dedication.

Deep sense of community

There is a true sense of empathy that permeates Argentine communities and encourages them to practice a culture of giving back. People are generous toward their neighbors in need and it doesn’t come from a place of obligation, but from a sense of empathy. A little more than a century ago, Argentina was the wealthiest country in the world – a true economic powerhouse with which to be reckoned.

Today, the remnants of this superpower are still very much alive, but far from reach and recent memory. Argentines know too well that what is construed as a stable situation one day, can easily turn into chaos the next – and no one in the community is spared. So, if someone is in need, help them out. It could be you tomorrow.

I know you were probably expecting to read about Argentina’s new digital nomad visa or Buenos Aires’s hippest new cafe, but I thought there is enough information about this on the internet already. Just Google the phrases and you’ll see. As a digital nomad, I know there’s more to your choice of where to settle next.
So, what are you waiting for! Find a job that will allow you to work from anywhere and move to Argentina. You won’t want to leave.
